The Newman University Campus Activities Board (CAB) seeks to enrich the collegiate student experience through the support of the Newman University by offering a wide range of co-curricular experiences for students, faculty, and staff. CAB also seeks to provide leadership and engagement opportunities for students in the planning, proposal, promotion, and presentation of activities designated to serve the cultural, educational, and social interests of the Newman University community. The job will begin in the FALL 2026 Semester.

Position Description:

The Office of Student Life is looking to hire the Chair position for the Campus Activities Board organization. The Campus Activities Board (CAB) Chair provides leadership, assistance, and support to the CAB Executive Committee to plan and implement events and activities. This position will assist with the planning and execution of all CAB Executive Committee meetings, will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing activities, coordinate the direction of the Campus Activities Board and work with CAB Executive Committee members on marketing events. The CAB Chair will create, establish and sustain partnerships within the Newman University community. This position will serve as the leader of the Campus Activities Board organization and will report to the Director of Student Activities.

Position Expectations:

  • Must hold 3-5 office hours per week in the Campus Activities Board Office.
  • Runs weekly Campus Activities Board Executive meetings
  • Serves as a leader to assist Executive Committee members with generating programming ideas
  • Work with the Student Life Department staff to coordinate and oversee the direction of the Campus Activities Board
  • Manages the Campus Activities Board email account, social media platforms and online drive
  • Assist with training Campus Activities Board Executive Committee members
  • Ensures that the Campus Activities Board staff maintains their commitment to hosting quality events for the Newman University community
  • Make recommendations to Campus Activities Board supervisor to ensure the Campus Activities Board organization is successful
  • Motivate and encourage the Campus Activities Board Executive Committee members as they implement programs
  • Attend Campus Activities Board events and help Executive Committee members as needed
  • Work alongside with the Director of Student Activities to assist with purchasing Campus Activities Board materials (office supplies, promotional items, event supplies, activity supplies, etc.)

Position Requirements:

  • Must be a current Newman University student.
  • Abide by the Newman University Student Code of Conduct
  • High energy individual that can motivate other to perform at a high level
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Cannot hold another on or off campus position that requires total work hours to exceed 20; if holding another position, there must be prior approval from Campus Activities Board supervisor
  • Attend all required Campus Activities Board trainings
