Occupational Summary:
The Project Coordinate for the Newman University Behavioral Health Education Social Work Trainees (NU-BEST) program through the HRSA BHWET grant project will manage the day-to-day operations of the (BHWET) grant program. This role is integral to the success of the BHWET grant program, supporting the development of a highly skilled behavioral health workforce committed to addressing community needs. As the first point of contact for students, faculty, and agency partners, the Project Coordinator will interpret program guidelines, resolve challenges, and ensure seamless communication among all stakeholders. This role requires a dynamic individual who is passionate about advancing behavioral health education and workforce development through high-quality program coordination, teaching, and training facilitation in higher education.

In addition to program management, this role involves teaching and training facilitation within higher education, ensuring that students receive high-quality, evidence-based instruction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work, a deep understanding of behavioral health initiatives, and the ability to adapt to the evolving landscape of community-based care. Essential Job Duties:

  1. Ensure the smooth implementation of the BHWET grant program by coordinating schedules, activities, and compliance with HRSA guidelines.
  2. Act as the liaison between students, faculty, and agency partners to foster collaboration and resolve concerns effectively.
  3. Teach courses within the MSW program, integrating trauma-informed and evidence-based practices to support student learning.
  4. Plan and coordinate training workshops and seminars for students and agency partners, focusing on prevention, clinical intervention, and behavioral health treatment.
  5. Monitor and document program outcomes, prepare reports, and ensure accurate data collection to meet grant reporting requirements.
  6. Support the development of educational materials, curricula, and resources to enhance the program’s learning experiences.
  7. Work collaboratively with faculty and external evaluators to assess program success and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  8. Reports to the Project Director.

Requirements:
  1. A Licensed Master’s social worker (MSW) or a doctorate in a closely related field is required.
  2. Minimum of three years of professional experience in social work, behavioral health, or a related field.
  3. Experience with grant program coordination, management, or administration is preferred.
  4. Previous teaching experience at the graduate level in social work or behavioral health, and familiarity with online teaching.
  5. Experience in developing and delivering trauma-informed, evidence-based training or curriculum is a plus.
  6. Thorough knowledge of HRSA BHWET grant regulations and initiatives focused on the development of the behavioral health workforce.
  7. Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and priorities effectively.
  8. Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, and community partners.
  9. Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting to meet grant requirements.
  10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  11. Deep dedication to fostering equality, accessibility, and cultural awareness, as well as promoting trauma-sensitive approaches in education and training.
  12. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, learning management systems (LMS), and data management tools is required.
  13. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  14. Flexibility to travel for program-related activities and events as needed.
  15. Reports to the Project Director.
  16. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
