The Newman University Campus Activities Board (CAB) seeks to enrich the collegiate student experience by offering a wide range of co-curricular experiences for students, faculty, and staff. CAB also seeks to provide leadership and engagement opportunities for students in the planning, proposal, promotion, and presentation of activities designated to serve the cultural, educational, and social interests of the Newman University community. The job will begin in the FALL 2024 Semester.

Position Summary:

The CAB Public Relations Coordinator serves as a leader of the CAB Executive Committee and works to plan and implement the events and activities. This position is responsible for CAB's creative marketing strategies, is the primary graphic designer, and helps create a strong visual identity for CAB. This position will manage the social media accounts and help promote and advertise CAB events.

Position Duties:

  1. Must hold 3-5 office hours per week in the CAB Office
  2. Attend regularly scheduled CAB meetings
  3. Create and distribute all advertisements and information regarding CAB and its events
  4. Maintain and update all CAB social media platforms
  5. Serve as a primary contact for The Vantage and any other publication
  6. Serve as a leader to generate programming ideas
  7. Work with the Student Affairs Department staff to coordinate and oversee the direction of CAB
  8. Ensure that CAB staff maintains their commitment to hosting quality events for the Newman University community
  9. Make recommendations to the Director of Student Activities that contribute to the success of CAB
  10. Attend CAB events and help as needed
  11. Attend all required CAB trainings

Position Requirements:

  1. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  2. Be a full-time Newman University student, enrolled in 12 or more credit hours per semester
  3. Abide by the Newman University Student Code of Conduct
  4. High energy individual that can motivate others to perform at a high level
  5. Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  6. Cannot hold another on-campus position that requires total work hours to exceed 20

Pay is $8.25 per hour.
