Occupational Summary:
The Recruiting and Advising Coordinator plays a pivotal role in facilitating the enrollment process and ensuring academic success for students in Southwest Kansas. The position combines responsibilities in student advising and admissions, requiring a dynamic individual capable of fostering positive relationships with prospective and current students while adhering to institutional policies and objectives. Travel is required. The position will split time between Dodge City, Garden City, and Liberal, KS.

This position is responsible for cultivating and maintaining the institution's Catholic identity and its mission to empower graduates to transform society. As a member of the Newman community, the staff member will join with the institution's sponsors, the Adorers of the Blood of Christ (ASC Sisters), to witness God's love in Mission to empower others, foster oneness, celebrate life, form right relationships, and walk as compassionate companions. Additionally, this position contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other faiths, cultures, or backgrounds.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Develop and implement individualized recruitment strategies in conjunction with the main campus admissions team.
  2. Conduct outreach visits at high schools, community colleges, and community events.
  3. Cultivate relationships with prospective students and families.
  4. Provide consistent and comprehensive academic advising to assigned students.
  5. Implement strategies to enhance students’ success, monitor academic progress and intervene as needed.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed records, prepare reports and analyses, assist in policy development and implementation.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  1. Associate’s degree required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  2. Experience in customer service or sales.
  3. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the University’s policy at all times.
  4. Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
  5. Experience working in higher education preferred.
  6. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Benefits

  1. Position is full time (40hrs) and works 12 months per year.
  2. Paid time off and benefits starting after first 30 days.
  3. Approximately 20 days off with pay for observed holidays/breaks with an additional 2 weeks of vacation time accrued per year.
  4. Tuition waiver for employee, spouse and eligible dependents after one year of employment.
