Student - Sports Information Assistant
General Description:
The Newman University Athletic Department is looking for reliable and responsible student workers to assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Communications. This involves attending and working during multiple sporting events.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and tear down before and after games
- Record live statistics and update social media during games
- Assist with scoreboard operation, public addresses, and music and audio functions during games
- Operate the camera and live streaming monitor
- Occasionally write games stories and provide graphic design or photography
Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be a current Newman University student enrolled full-time (12 credit hours per semester)
- General knowledge of athletic events with a background in sports preferred
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Some heavy lifting and moving of equipment
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Number of hours per week: Max of 20 hours
Days and times: Varies week to week with most hours being evenings and weekends
Rate of Pay: $8.25 per hour
