Assistant Professor of Data Science
Occupational Summary:
The School of Business & Technology is seeking a full-time faculty member to lead the ongoing growth and development of our MS in Data Science program. The faculty member will also lead undergraduate and graduate course development in Business Analytics and our new Applied AI certificates and courses to keep pace with developing trends in the field and meet employer expectations.
The faculty member will participate in student advising, student recruitment and retention efforts, ongoing professional development, university service, and engagement with campus and community partners. The faculty member may also teach courses in related degree programs such as Computer Science.
Faculty members contribute to the effectiveness of the University by working collaboratively on instructional policy, curriculum development, and staff development. They are models of educated persons, exemplifying the virtues they seek to inspire in students, including curiosity, tolerance, honesty, fairness, and respect for diversity.

Work Performed:
- Pursue excellence in course development and instruction — including both online and face-to-face delivery methods.
- Participate in student recruitment and retention efforts.
- Assist with the ongoing assessment and improvement of courses and the curriculum.
- Participate in the development of strong campus and community partnerships.
- Assist in cultivating strong relationships with key external academic partners, including regional high schools, community colleges, and other relevant entities.
- Assist in cultivating strong relationships with regional employers and corporate partners.
- Contribute a professional culture of collaboration, trust, and accountability by maintaining responsive, professional, and positive communication with faculty, staff, and students.
- Other job-related duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Evidence of strong collaboration skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
