Newman University is seeking a student-centered, collaborative, and innovative Director of Navigator to lead a comprehensive student success program while serving as a faculty member within the School of Arts and Sciences. This role plays a key part in supporting student achievement, leadership development, and retention through teaching and program leadership.

The Director of Navigator oversees the implementation and continuous improvement of the Navigator Program, which provides structured support to help students succeed academically and grow as leaders. This position also integrates Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) into Navigator courses to strengthen student learning outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage the Navigator program, including implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement
  • Teach Navigator and other Arts and Humanities courses
  • Collaborate with campus partners to support student success, engagement, and retention
  • Develop and train faculty in partnership with WAC and Teaching and Learning
  • Coordinate program operations, including scheduling, Canvas, and student e-portfolios
  • Partner with Alumni Relations to connect students with mentors
  • Support Admissions efforts to promote the Navigator program
  • Monitor outcomes and use data to enhance program effectiveness
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s degree required; terminal degree in Arts and Humanities or related field preferred
  • Experience in student success initiatives, advising, leadership development, or higher education programs
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and program management skills
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and build meaningful relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
