Student - President's Office Assistant
Position Summary:
The Student Assistant position in the President’s Office of Newman University requires a high degree of commitment, maturity, self-motivation, and excellent communication skills. It is critical that the student assistant practice utmost confidentiality, reliability, and commitment to the University and to the President’s Office. A student who can work two hours per day over lunchtime is highly preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cover office during lunch (flexible 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
- Answer telephones as needed.
- Greet visitors to the President’s Office and assist or direct University faculty, staff, and students, as well as members of the larger community to the appropriate persons/areas on campus.
- Prepare correspondence, spreadsheets, mailings, and copies as necessary.
- Assist with all office file maintenance.
- Process incoming/outgoing US and campus mail daily.
- Maintain office supply inventory.
- Help to keep the office areas tidy and organized.
- Support the Director of Mission Effectiveness occasionally.
- Complete University-required trainings, including FERPA and Title IX.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be a current Newman University Student enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours)
- Strong organizational and communications skills
- Must be available to cover the lunch hour (flexible 11 am – 2 pm)
Number of hours per week: 6 - 8, depending on student’s availability
Days and Times needed: Need office covered during the lunch hour (flexible, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.); remaining schedule will depend on student’s availability during regular office hours.

Rate of Pay: $8.25
