The Instructor of Music and Piano Accompanist at a private college is responsible for providing high-quality keyboard accompaniment for musical performances while teaching and mentoring students in piano and organ. This role supports student artistic growth through engaging instruction and contributes to a vibrant, collaborative academic environment.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver applied instruction in piano and organ, fostering student technique, musicianship, and performance readiness
  • Provide piano accompaniment for performance students, choral ensembles, and university productions and events
  • Mentor students individually, supporting both artistic and academic development
  • Collaborate with music and theatre faculty on performances, curriculum, and departmental initiatives
  • Stay current with trends in music education and performance practice
  • Participate in institutional responsibilities, including required trainings (e.g., Title IX, FERPA) and departmental activities

What We're Looking For

  • Master’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency as a piano accompanist
  • Experience teaching piano and organ at the collegiate level
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse learners
  • Commitment to student success, collaboration, and continuous professional growth
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
